1. Vacuum the rug with a brush attachment (never running
the vacuum directly over the rug) or by shaking it outside.
2. Do not throw your cowhide rug in the washer, immerse
it in water or have it dry cleaned. If you need to spot clean the rug, wipe it
with a damp soapy cloth in the direction of the hair. Remove solid messes or
spills with a solid edged spatula or utensil and blot or wipe out the rest.
3. After spot cleaning, place your rug in a dry place.
Placing the hair-on-hide rug belly up in the sun will help it dry quicker.
4. If your rug is looking a little flat, perk it up by
brushing with a stiff plastic brush. This will also help to remove dirt and
dust.
